Finances

Making a Contribution
If you would like to support me financially you can do this in several ways depending on your country of residence, however, whichever way you make the contribution, you must reference the payment with "#3035 Ryan Hare"

Financial Requirements
In order to serve with Mercy Ships I need to raise a minimum of R6500 per month. This serves to cover accommodation, food, health insurance, flights and general living costs. The breakdown of expenses is as follows:
R2900 for crew fees (these include food, accommodation and medical aid)
R1900 for Airfares (This will cover a return flight home once a year)
R1700 for personal spending (clothes, toiletries, recreation, communications etc.)

In addition to these I would like to raise the following:
R20 000 for additional training in Texas in January 2012.
R2000 pm for mission spending (e.g. supporting a local family with school fees/uniform.)
R2000 pm for investment in property in order to achieve future returns.

Accountability
The funds which I am being entrusted with is effectively not mine. Therefore I have approached one of the onboard chaplains, Marty Schwebble, to keep me financially accountable. I will review monthly spendig with Marty on a monthly basis. If you would like to contact him, or review my finances, please drop me an email and I will send you his email address.

Mercy Ships Funding Policy
It is the policy of Mercy Ships not to raise money for the cost of crew. This ensures that all money that Mercy Ships raises goes to the actual operation of the ship, and not into somebody's pocket. No body serving on the ship, except for a few Gurkha Guards and occasionally a few local drivers, receives support from Mercy Ships. Everyone from the people scrubbing the toilets to the plastic surgeons, to the captain of the ship pays their own way. I think this is good as controversy surrounds charities/ministries where a large proportion of funding goes to administration.

Previous Earnings.
I am not in this for the money, but rather to follow the calling of God. Prior to working with Mercy Ships I was employed by Grinaker-LTA. Grinaker-LTA is one of the biggest construction firms in South Africa and is an international company. I was employed after graduating from the University of Cape Town with an Honours in Construction Management. I Started as a Junior Site Engineer and after my first year was filing the position of a Site Manager on an $80 000 000 hospital in Lesotho. My career prospects were very promising and my disposable salary was considerably larger than the amounts I am requesting above. I am not saying this to boast, but rather to make a point.
During my time of employment I invested as much money as I could, however the investment is not yet in a position to release returns.

I trust you will prayerfully consider supporting me financially.
